# VS Code

VS Code uses MCP servers in GitHub Copilot's agent mode.

## Install link

[Install Upvera in VS Code](vscode:mcp/install?%7B%22name%22%3A%22upvera%22%2C%22type%22%3A%22http%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fmcp.upvera.co%2Fmcp%22%7D)

## Or edit mcp.json

Add Upvera to `.vscode/mcp.json` in your workspace:

```json
{
  "servers": {
    "upvera": { "type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.upvera.co/mcp" }
  }
}
```

You can also run **MCP: Add Server…** from the Command Palette, pick **HTTP** and paste `https://mcp.upvera.co/mcp`.

## Sign in

Start the server from `mcp.json` or the MCP view. VS Code asks to sign in: approve, sign in on app.upvera.co and approve the consent page.

## Try it

Open Copilot Chat, switch to Agent mode and ask:

```text
Use Upvera to draft a progress post from my commits since Monday.
```

## Disconnect

Remove the server from `mcp.json`, then revoke it in [Settings › Security › AI access](https://app.upvera.co/settings/security/ai-access).
